  Our experience with Rettinger Fireplace Systems (a family business) was beyond amazing. My husband and I bought a custom mantle and custom-made shelving tops, and every aspect of the process is what other companies should model their businesses after. From the second we stepped into the place, we were treated warmly and professionally by Alexis Rettinger. She took us around the showroom and spent a lot of time patiently and enthusiastically helping us to find a style we liked and giving us great insight and suggestions about not just the style, but the functionality of each one. Throughout the process it ended up feeling like we were working with a friend. Down to every last tiny detail, Alexis and Dave took great care to make sure we were designing a mantle and shelves we'd be happy with. They made sure we understood the products that we would be getting and how they would work in our space. They communicated with us constantly throughout the process through emails and phone calls, and we never had a question that didn't get answered kindly, promptly, and thoroughly. Once we picked out our mantle, Dave Rettinger came to our house to make sure of the sizing of the mantle and shelves and the safety of our fireplace. The Rettingers made adjustments according to fire code and suggestions based on aesthetics. Once the products were made, their installers were just as professional, knowledgeable and friendly as the Rettingers. They went above and beyond when they delivered it and they explained how it would be pieced together during the install. One installer and I discussed how nice the Rettingers are, and he said that when he started he thought they were too good to be true, but he had been wrong. He said he's worked for them for years and that my experience has been the same as his. He's never worked for such nice people. And the finished product? The shelves are perfect and beautifully made, and I still can't believe how absolutely stunning the mantle is. I will never go anywhere else as long as the Rettingers are there.
